Weed or Flower?

I emptied out many old seed packets this spring - so I don't know if this is a weed or a flower. Any ideas? If those are all seed heads - I need to pull it quick.

Update: After some searching I think it might be pigsweed. Which I have never seen in my garden before. I don't think I'm going to be buying the same mushroom compost ever again.

Wow! It rather be something good! I hope someone knows what it is! I'd hate to pull it out and then learn that it was a plant with beautiful blooms! Good luck!

Pigweed would be my guess too. I thought someone else had posted a pic of it, however, and I think it turned out to be something else :)- hard to tell from a pic. online I guess.

This is our 4th summer on our Oklahoma plot of land, and I still see new things every year that I let grow just to see what happens! It pays off sometimes, but usually not! Since I can't be helpful, I'll just be supportive. :) I hope it's a happy addition.

Hi Ann, thanks for visiting my blog! I think this looks more like amaranth, not sure of the variety, but it's probably from bird seed, if you fed birds last winter. Keep an eye on it, just to make sure. I do know that it's not pigweed as the leaves are the wrong shape.

I stand corrected - amaranth is indeed known as pigweed, but I guess that's the problem with common names! Here's a link to some info, and a picture. Hope you can figure out what it is!
