The month of January here had not a single day above 40 deg F, but ample snow. This means there is a lot of old snow that has barely melted at all. This means that not only is there lots of yellow snow from the neighborhood dogs (who have marked both sides of any shoveled gap, yuck), but lots of dirty snow. The snow near the roads with more traffic is covered with black soot, which means it is starting to melt a bit more. And the snow in the middle of the yard shows dirt from the air as well.
Knitting-wise, I've not made much progress, only halfway through the second mitt.
